THE FOUNDATIONS · 3 MIN READ
A birth chart goes beyond your zodiac animal.
You may know the animal associated with your birth year. BaZi takes a more detailed starting point: the year, month, day, and hour of birth.
Four pillars, one starting point
BaZi is often translated as Eight Characters. In this traditional Chinese framework, four pairs of symbols correspond to the year, month, day, and hour of birth. Together they form what is commonly called the Four Pillars.
A framework for reflection
A reading interprets relationships between these symbols through concepts such as Yin and Yang and the Five Elements. These are cultural interpretive traditions, not a scientific test of personality or a guarantee of future events.
What a reading can offer
Think of a birth reading as another language for exploring your strengths, relationships, and priorities. Notice what resonates, question what does not, and keep your own experience and judgment at the centre.
